Scandalous Desires (Maiden Lane)

Scandalous Desires - Elizabeth Hoyt The first 75% of this book was fun but the last 25% became needlessly melodramatic. There were also several things that didn't make sense. For example, I couldn't understand why the orphanage needed funding from patrons when Silence's sister seemed rather wealthy.

Silence, the heroine, became annoying - I could barely read her parts of the book by the end - and too stupid to live. However, Mickey, the hero, was awesome. He gets 5 stars from me. Sadly, the rest of the book gets 2 stars.
